At Jue's Taekwon-Do, our instructors are highly acclaimed in the martial art industry. They are all ITF certified instructors and have competed extensively, both in the national and international arena.
Master Gordon Jue, VIII
Head instructor and owner Master Gordon Jue is an 8th degree black belt who has been teaching for over 40 years and training in Martial Arts since 1976. He began his Taekwon-Do (Korean Karate) training in 1979. He is internationally certified to teach through the ITF. As a Taekwon-Do pioneer in California, Master Jue specializes in instilling discipline, confidence, and self defense in students of all ages. He has trained numerous national and world champions before which he was a regional and national competitor himself.
Mr. William Wold, V
Mr. William Wold is an international instructor with over 40 years of experience in martial arts. Trained in Bok Fu, Kempo Karate, Jiu Jitsu, and stick fighting, Mr. Wold joined Jue’s Taekwon-Do when he saw the high quality training and skills of the students. Mr. Wold is one of Jue’s Taekwon-Do’s most knowledgeable practitioners, and he brings his many life experiences and technical know-how to his classes.
Ms. Sheri Ambriz, V
Mrs. Sheri Ambriz is a fourth degree black belt who has been a black belt for over six years. She is a national and international competitor, her most recent competition being the World Championships in Italy where she placed bronze in patterns and sparring. Both her husband, Nestor, and son, Moises, also practice Taekwon-Do, and they often train together during the 6 PM family class.
Mr. Pete Spraggins, V
Mr. Pete Spraggins is a fifth Degree black belt. He began his training in 1971 while attending San Jose State University. He joined Jue’s Taekwon-Do in 2006. A certified international instructor and Class B umpire, Mr. Spraggins has taught classes at a local private elementary school and teaches classes at Jue’s Taekwon-Do. He was a coach for Team USA at the World Championships in 2010 (S. Korea), 2012 (Canada), and 2014 (Italy).
Mr. Derek Leung, V
Mr. Derek Leung is a 4th degree black belt who began his martial arts training in 2000. Since joining Jue’s Taekwon-Do with his father in 2001, he has competed in local, national, and international tournaments. Mr. Leung graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. While in school, he founded the Taekwon-Do Club and took the role as its President and Instructor. Mr. Leung currently practices Taekwon-Do with his sister, Valerie.
Ms. Helen Lee, IV
Ms. Helen Lee is an accomplished 4th degree black belt with numerous competitions and teaching experience under her belt. She first started Taekwon-Do at 4 years old. She won the gold medal in patterns at the 2012 World Championships, located in Canada. For the last 5 years, she has been an valuable instructor and coach who inspires and leads the students.
Mr. David Jue, IV
Mr. David Jue is a 4th degree black belt who first began his Taekwon-Do journey when he was five years old. He has competed in 1 World Cup Championship, 3 World Championships, and 1 World Games Championships. He placed in the top three in all five competitions and has won 1st place in the 2014 Italy World Championships and 2023 Korea World Games Championships. Mr. Jue graduated from the University of California, Riverside and hopes to continue the Jue’s Taekwon-Do legacy as an instructor at Jue’s Taekwon-Do and team coach for Team Jue.
