Jue’s TKD Virtual Tul (Patterns) Competition!

This tournament is unlike anything you have ever competed in.

For the first time ever, winning the gold medal is completely in your hands. In each division, the video that receives the most “likes, ” WINS. Second and third place will be determined accordingly.

This means that competitors can share it with ANYBODY. Friends and family are able to cast in their votes for their favorite performance. All you need is a Google Account to “like” a video.

It’s like a Taekwon-Do version of American Idol!

All ranks are able to participate (white belt to black belt).

Important Dates:

October 1 - 21st - Registration opens and video uploads are accepted

October 21st - Last day for registration entries and video submission (via Google Drive)
October 24th - Youtube video divisions will be made public (Videos are open for voting/liking)
October 31st at 11:59 PM PST - Voting closes
November 1 - Announcement of winners via Facebook

How to Film Your Video

• Video format: Landscape orientation.

• Stances and techniques must be seen at all times throughout the video.

• Competitors are to start in the junbi or ready position, facing the camera.

• Patterns begins in the junbi position.

• Once the pattern is completed, competitors should return to a junbi position.

General Rules

• Students should film one pattern of their choice for submission. ITF Patterns only.

• Brackets are sorted by age and rank.

• Competition rules are as follows:

  • Jue’s Taekwon-Do will have a panel of 5 judges

  • People’s choice - Anyone can cast a vote. Your mom, your dad, yourself, friends, or even grandparents! Share your division and Youtube video with them and show them all of the skills you have!

  • The competitor with the most votes, wins!

  • “Dislikes” do not affect the score.

Video Submission Rules

• What to include in file name of your video: Competitor’s name and rank

• Upload link will be provided once a competitor has registered.

Tournament fee per competitor: $20

For Jue’s Taekwon-Do students, participation in this tournament will count towards any tournament requirement.
